Annapurna Short Circuit Trek is similar to Annapurna Circuit Trekking, but the way in between differs. It is a 14 days trekking for the trekkers who has small time limit but wants to go for Annapurna Circuit Trekking. So, instead of Annapurna Circuit Trekking they can experience Annapurna Short Circuit Trekking.

It is a traditional trekking site but the modern developments have endangered its routes. The trail gives the extreme pleasure and benefits of viewing rivers, green vegetation, wildlife and many snow-capped mountains. Annapurna Short Circuit Trekking goes through various districts of Nepal namely: Kaski, Lamjung, Manang and Mustang.

The initial spot for Annapurna Short Circuit Trekking is Jagat. Jagat is at a distance of 10 hours from Kathmandu. Every tourist is spell bound while travelling to Jagat from capital city because they get familiar to the rivers, vegetation and countryside on their way. In this trekking region Hindu are found at the lower part whereas Buddhist are found in the upper part of Annapurna.

Like other trekking destinations, Muktinath attracts many tourists. It is equally important trekking sites for domestic tourists as well. Both Hindu and Buddhist offer their prayers and worship in Muktinath. They believe if we worship here we are released from the suffering cycle of birth and death.

  • Impact of earthquake

    Despite the massive earthquake of 25th April, 2015, the site is safe to visit. Few teahouses where guests are accommodated were partially destroyed by the quake but at present all of these rest houses are well maintained. The trail to the base camp are also already rebuilt. While on trek tourists do not see any sign of tremor. Everything is back to normal.



Once you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport you will be received by the representative of Crimson Nepal Adventure. He will transfer you to the hotel in Thamel. Despite the long and tiring journey you can roam around the city and get refreshed.

On the second day of your arrival you will enjoy Kathmandu sightseeing. With our expert guide you will visit Kathmandu. The main touring destinations in Kathmandu are: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swoyambhunath stupa (Monkey temple) and Bouddhanath stupa. To your concern these are the place that has been listed in World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

You will also be introduced to your trekking guide by Crimson Nepal Adventure who will accompany you throughout your trekking journey. He will give you a short description regarding your trekking so that you can gear yourself up. You can enjoy the night life of Thamel.

Early in the morning right after breakfast we leave Kathmandu for Jagat. It is a 10 hours ride from the capital city. On the way to Jagat you encounter the countryside and their living style.

Today we enter into the Manang district. It is a desert area of Nepal as it receives minimum rainfall. Here mostly grown crops are: rice, barley and potatoes. We see waterfalls and cliffs on the way. Right before arriving at Dharapani we see a small village named Kodo. It is named kodo as local crops kodo is grown in this village.

Today we move towards Chame. The trekking begins right after breakfast. Green vegetation and mountains are the attraction of this place. Here, we encounter the village where Gurung inhabits. They are known as a brave citizen with a pure and blissful soul. They follow their own unique culture and traditions. 

Climbing the steep hills for about one to two hours from Danakyu we reach Timang. If the weather is clear we can get the amazing view of mountains. Cool and soft breeze re-energizes you.

Overnight in Chame


It is a blissful walk from Chame to Pisang as you see the view of Annapurna II at south and Paungd Dada at north-east. Although it is a flat trail, in between we need to walk up and down. Passing through jungles and mountains the journey excites you. At the end of the day we put off at a tea house.


Today we walk from Pisang to Manang. Following the course to upper Pisang we arrive at Nawal. It is a small village where Gurung, Magar and Ghyarung are natives. 
We follow the course to Upper Pisang as the trail will offer you literally beautiful views of mountains. We arrive at Nawal village. It is a beautiful settlement of Gurunu, Ghayarung and Magar people. 

Manang is known as a desert area of Nepal as it receives low rainfall. The ourney to Manang gives you the spectacular view of Annapurna II and IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak. Gangapurna and Tilicho glaciers are also viewed. Once we arrive at manang we stay in a tea house.

Today is an acclimatization day. It is very essential to provide rest to your body after such a long and painful journey. Despite being a rest day we go for a short hiking. We go to see few monasteries in Manang. It is fully influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. The prayer flags, mani walls and prayer wheels gives you peaceful pleasure.

One of the best places to hike for is Ice Lake. Covering the distance of two hours we reach there. There we see 100 Rs Lama. He is supposed to be a saint offering good luck to the visitors. But the main part is you need to pay 100 Rs to get his blessings. That is why he is known as 100 Rs Lama. There you can have herbal tea which stays at the tip of your tongue for long time. Then we get back to Manang.

Chauri Ledar is a place like a desert. The bared mountains are seen in this area. The fine part of this trail is you get to see Chulu West Mountain. At around 2 pm we come to Chauri Ledar from Manang. The people we encounter here are so humble. We will stay at a tea house.

Trailing to High Camp our first destination is Thorang Phedi. We are blessed to see the view of Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorung Peak and Mt. Khatungkan. From Thorang Phedi our ultimate destination High Camp is an hour away.

As it is a long walking trail so we get up early in the morning and begin our trek. We will be walking for around 9 hours today. It is guts challenging. So be prepared!

It usually takes five hours to reach Thorang La Pass from High Camp. Now you are exactly at the height of 5,416 m. It feels as if you have conquered the world and nothing can beat you up. The amazing view of Dhaulagiri and Tukuche is enough to snatch your heart. 

We have just come to the half of our trekking trail. We need to complete the second half too! Now we move towards Muktinath. It is a common holy shrine for Hindu and Buddhist. They offer prayers to their god in their own unique culture and style. It is about four hour walk to Muktinath. Once you arrive here you can visit the site.
We again move to Jomsom from Muktinath which is the final destination for today.

Today before noon we catch a flight to Pokhara from Jomsom. It is at an air distance of 20 minutes. The scenic view you get from the flight makes you go crazy. Beautiful mountains, lakes and hills snatch your heart. After arriving at Pokhara you can roam around and visit Davis Falls, Mahendra Cave and also enjoy boating in Phewa Lake.

Early in the morning after breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. We will follow the same route that once led us to Pokhara. Leaving all the beautiful memories behind you will feel emotional and nostalgic at the same time. In the evening members of Crimson Nepal Adventure will offer you a special dinner in your farewell. The dinner is for fruitfully completing the trek.
